Integrations / IBKR

Your IBKR records.
Reviewed in OTOX.

A user-configured reporting workflow. Current Flex import and the planned guided connection are separate options.

Set up Activity Flex import

The native app requests reports directly from IBKR. In the browser, use manual exported XML review instead of a direct-token connection.

  1. Create your report in IBKRCreate an Activity Flex Query and enable Flex Web Service access. Follow IBKR’s official configuration guide for token and Query ID setup.
  2. Open connection settings in OTOXIn the installed app, go to Menu → Add Investment → IBKR → Connect IBKR → Connection settings.
  3. Test, sync and previewEnter the Query ID and Flex token inside the app, test the connection, then sync and preview the supported records.
  4. Review and explicitly saveCheck the proposed holdings and transactions. Resolve unsupported records or missing history before saving.

What this import supports

  • USD-base accounts with supported USD stock/ETF executions and summary positions, including USD commissions.
  • Cash balances and cash transaction counts are shown for review. This flow does not import or modify the cash ledger.
  • Unsupported records, ambiguous overlaps or incomplete history can block saving. A position snapshot does not reconstruct missing trades.
  • Report retrieval does not place orders or initiate transfers. It is not a promise of real-time data, closed-app automatic sync or live certification.

Your Flex credentials

The native app encrypts the token and Query ID in a separate device-only credential store. They are excluded from portfolio backups and cloud portfolio records. The native app requests reports directly from IBKR.

Removing credentials in OTOX does not revoke the token at IBKR and does not delete records you already imported. Manage token revocation in IBKR separately.

Troubleshooting

Invalid or expired token

Check the token and Query ID inside the app against the values in IBKR Client Portal. If the token has expired or been revoked, manage or replace it in IBKR, then update the app. Do not send it to support.

The report is still being generated

Allow IBKR time to generate the report and retry later. A pending report is not a completed import; review the returned records before saving.

Unsupported account, currency or record

Check the USD-base and supported USD stock/ETF boundaries above. Do not remove a warning or change record values merely to force an import to save.

Incomplete history or overlapping records

Review the report period and existing imported history. Obtain the missing history or resolve ambiguous overlaps before saving. Current positions alone cannot establish missing acquisition records.

Guided connection

Planned — subject to IBKR approval

We are working toward a guided connection that lets you authorize access on IBKR and return to OTOX to review your portfolio records. Availability depends on provider approval and completed integration testing.

Intended journey only. No authorization is available here. Approval, provider permissions, session coexistence and release timing are not confirmed.

This future option requires backend storage of encrypted authorization grants and its own privacy disclosure before activation. The device-only Flex description does not apply to that backend.
